Alright, I didn’t become a doctor like I really wanted to, but I did manage to get into the world of Information Technology and become the IT Director of a high tech manufacturing company. Since the mid 1980s, after I graduated my computer science studies at Loyola University, Chicago, and then getting my MBA, I have been working as a programmer, software engineer, systems analyst, manager, and now, IT Director.
What motivates me to get up at 4:30 in the morning every day to go to work?! Knowing that I have a positive impact in the growth of one the most successful companies in this industry, the unique challenges that I face each day, and the respect that I have earned as the leader of the IT department.
You know you like what you do when you dream about your job frequently! Yes, I often dream about my job and even solve problems in my dreams, then wake up and try to remember how I solved a particular issue in my dream! THAT motivates me to do a great job…
Everybody is nice when everything is going well. Your true character comes out when things go wrong, when you are under pressure, or when you don’t get what you expected.
